Second brain AI

Second brain AI for the documents you have read

Search+ works as a second brain for the documents you read, not for the thoughts you jot down. Everything you have read in PDF form goes into workspaces, and later you can ask what those documents said and get an answer that cites the passage. Nothing has to be tagged, linked or filed by hand first. If your problem is remembering where you read something, this covers it; if your problem is organizing your own notes, a note app is the better tool.

No payment details needed to create an account.

Recall questions a document memory can answer

The kind of half-remembered questions that send people searching through old downloads.

"Which report was it that compared the two pricing models?"

Asked across a workspace of saved reports, the answer names the documents that discuss it and cites the passages, so the source you half remember turns up with its excerpt.

"What was the exact wording of the retention rule I read last spring?"

The answer quotes the relevant passage through its citation instead of paraphrasing from memory, which matters when the wording is the point.

"Have I read anything that contradicts this claim?"

Search+ looks across the workspace and cites any passage that cuts the other way, or says it found nothing in those documents.

"What did I ask about this topic before?"

Search your conversations by name and reopen the earlier thread, with its scope and context intact.

What is a second brain, and where AI fits

A second brain is an external system that holds what you want to remember so your own memory does not have to: notes, highlights, reading and the connections between them. Most second-brain systems are built around writing notes and linking them. AI second-brain tools add the ability to ask the system questions instead of browsing it. Search+ takes a narrower slice of the idea. It does not hold notes at all. It holds documents, organized into workspaces, and answers questions about them with citations, while keeping your past conversations so the thread of your thinking about a topic is saved too. For people whose reading lives in PDFs, that slice is often the part of a second brain that is hardest to maintain by hand.

Not a note-taking app. Search+ has no notes, backlinks, tags or daily pages, and it does not capture content from other apps.

How to build a document memory in Search+

  1. Decide how to split your reading

Make a workspace per area you return to, such as a client, a course or a research topic. Questions only draw on one workspace at a time, so the split decides what gets searched together.

  2. Move PDFs in as you read them

Upload PDFs in batches of up to 10. They process in the background and show their status, so filing does not interrupt your work.

  3. Tell each workspace what matters

Write Workspace Context for the area: the vocabulary you use, the sources you trust most, how you like answers framed.

  4. Ask when you need to remember

When something comes up, ask the workspace. Open the citation to read the original passage before you rely on it.

What Search+ remembers for you

Documents, kept

Workspaces, documents and conversations are saved between sessions, so the memory is there next month.

Recall by meaning

Search+ finds relevant passages by meaning, not only by exact words, within the workspace you choose, which helps when you cannot recall the wording.

The original passage, not a paraphrase

Answers carry inline citations to the source document and excerpt, and you can open each one.

Your past questions

Reopen earlier conversations from your history or search them by name.

Patterns across what you read

Ask for themes and repeated claims across a set of documents.

Separate areas

Each account's workspaces and documents are kept separate from other accounts, and each workspace answers only from its own documents.

What it will not do as a second brain

No notes or links between ideas

There is nowhere to write notes, link them or tag them. Keep those in your note app.

No capture from other tools

Search+ does not connect to note apps, email, cloud drives or browsers. You add documents by uploading PDFs.

Memory you should verify

AI answers can be incomplete or inaccurate. Read the cited excerpt before you act on something you are recalling.

Second brain AI questions

Can Search+ work alongside Obsidian?
It can sit next to it, but there is no integration. Keep notes and links in Obsidian and export source documents to PDF for Search+. Search+ does not read your vault.
Is there a second brain AI app for my phone?
Search+ runs in the browser only. There is no iOS, Android or desktop app.
Can I try it without paying?
Creating an account does not ask for payment details. Search+ does not advertise a free plan or free limits.
Will it remember things I tell it in chat?
Conversations are saved and can be reopened, and Workspace Context holds standing instructions you write. Answers about content still come from the documents in the workspace, not from facts you typed into earlier chats.
What is the best way to start a document second brain?
Start small. Pick one area you return to often, create a workspace for it and upload the twenty or thirty PDFs you reach for most. Ask it a few real questions over the next week. Add more workspaces once you see which areas you actually query.
Does it find things if I remember the idea but not the words?
Often, yes. Retrieval works by meaning, not only by exact words, so a question phrased in your own terms can still reach a passage that uses different vocabulary. The citation then shows you the original wording.
How many documents can my second brain hold?
Search+ does not publish a document limit per workspace. Uploads go in batches of up to 10 PDFs at a time.
Can it connect what I read across different workspaces?
No. A question draws on one workspace at a time. Put documents you want considered together in the same workspace.
Is my reading private to my account?
Each account's workspaces and documents are kept separate from other accounts, and sign-in runs through Clerk. Search+ makes no further security or compliance claims.
Can my second brain hold more than PDFs?
Yes. It holds PDF, Word and Excel files, and OCR reads scanned pages, so old printed articles you scanned can live next to recent downloads. You still ask questions to recall them, and the answer cites the document you read.
