Recall alternatives

Recall is a personal knowledge base: it saves articles, videos, podcasts, PDFs and notes, summarizes them and lets you chat with your library or the internet. People look for an alternative when the free plan's 10 summaries a month run out, when they want answers from a fixed set of documents rather than everything they have saved, or when they want their data on their own device. The closest alternatives are Search+ for project workspaces, NotebookLM for notebooks of sources, AnythingLLM for local AI, and ChatPDF for quick PDF chats.

We make Search+, one of the alternatives below. We compared Recall and each alternative on files, citations, instructions, sharing and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 11, 2026.
